As International patients from Sydney, Australia in April and October 2019 respectively, we were extremely impressed with Dr Udatta Kher at Only Smiles Mumbai, India and the dental work (implants and crowns) we had undertaken with him.
International standards/ professionalism/workmanship-
Dr Udattta is to be highly commended for the exceedingly high-quality dental work he provided to
us. We were concerned that going overseas to India for dental work would not meet international
standards in safety, hygiene and quality but we were overwhelmingly impressed and reassured to
have experienced such faultless dental workmanship at the highest level of patient care by Dr Udatta
Kher. We researched many Dental Implantologists in India and we impressed that Dr Udatta Kher
continues with his Dental Education but undertaking research, contributing to Dental Journals,
presenting at international conferences and keeping abreast of current developments and practices
within the implantology, oral surgery and cosmetic dentistry arena. In fact, Dr Kher had headed
abroad to present are several International Conferences before and after our visits with him. This
was important to us to find a Dental Surgeon who we felt was on top of his game and current in
knowledge. Dr Udatta is very well mannered with a confident command of the English language. So
there is no concern with communication breakdowns. Dr Udatta went beyond care expectations and
provided us with details of places to visit and see, restaurants to eat at and general local community
knowledge was shared with us. This was extremely helpful as it was our first time in Mumbai.
Hygiene and cleanliness-
The dental surgery rooms were hygienically clean. I observed Dr Her and the dental assistants
wearing gloves, opening the sterilised packaging of implements and dental resources and cleaning
apparatus. Expect to take your shoes off before entering the dental rooms. You can wear shoes in
the waiting room only.
Knowledge of the Surgeon-
Dr Udatta Kher is a very knowledgeable, informative, transparent and experienced Dental Clinician,
Implantologist and Cosmetic Dental Surgeon. Everything was explained clearly to us and all
questions were answered. Any emails we sent to him were responded to in a timely manner. He was
honest and reassuring. He will be honest about the work you need and don’t need. We were
expecting to have a lot more work done but Dr Udatta explained it was necessary and provided us
with a good understanding as to why.
Patient care- exceptional quality care. We felt extremely comfortable and safe under Dr Udttas care. He is reliable and trustworthy.
Complications- we had no complications whatsoever. The pain level for the implants was minimal for the implants to our surprise. We went back to the hotel expecting the night to be rough and uncomfortable. We took a panadol equivalent and did not really need it. It was basically painless.
Service accessibility- We had stayed in Juhu (Sea Princess Juhu Tara Rd) and it was a bit too hot and busy to walk to the surgery. We found the rickshaw was the best option. It can take up 20 mins in traffic, however, we worked out if you organise an appointment at 10 am, the traffic is reduced. The building is old on the outside and you will have a flight of stairs to negotiate. There is a lift for wheelchair access. The inside of the surgery is clean and refreshing, tile floors well sanitised and modern decor.
What the trip may look like- Day 1 meet and greet, have Xrays, discuss the plan of action. Ask lots of questions. Day 2 or 3- begin work, may need about 40 mins - one hour per person this visit. Day 5 or 6- progress check-up, fit teeth moulds if having implants Day 8 or 9- check to see if implants need any adjustments before flying home on Day 10 or 11. Pricing- In Australia we were quoted $6, 500 for one implant. At the time we went, we received ours for roughly $1, 300. It was a titanium implant in the global top five (yes, we researched that as well) and that price included all related dental costs.
I underwent full oral rehabilitation including complex full lower jaw implant surgery at Only Smiles under Dr Udatta Kher and his excellent team of doctors and support staff,during 2018/2019.Words cannot describe the amazing experience I had during several visits to this clinic for the above.I was amazed that post implant surgery under Dr Udatta Kher I experienced zero post operative bleeding.The surgery was conducted in an utterly professional manner and recovery was quick and within 4 months had the permament prosthetics fitted on the implants.I have no hesitation in recommending Only Smiles for those seeking solutions to all dental problems.Dr Udatta is a dentist truly gifted by god in his profession.

Thank you very much for carrying out major dental implant surgery and bilateral sinus lift - for subsequent remaining implants in seven months time on me in last November. Since my migration to the UK from India in 1978, I have always had a dental check/treatment during my yearly trips back to Mumbai.
On one such visit, a friend of my Mum told me about Dr Kher Senior and 'The young Dr.Udatta Kher'. This friend's strong recommendation spurred me on to visit the Dental Clinic in Bandra. It was the best decision I made and I have now been attending for the past 5 years.
At the very outset, I was impressed by the kindly and efficient Receptionist and Dr.Kher's quiet and unassuming manner. Dr.Kher conducted all my treatments very professionally. At no time did I feel coerced into any treatment and always felt that I received good advice.
Quite recently I was told by my Dentist in the UK that two of my teeth were " beyond repair and I would need to have implants." I was not fully convinced and slightly apprehensive of having implants; so I decided to make a trip to India to seek out Dr.Kher's advice.
Dr.Kher told me that he himself did implants and that he was a Professor at the dental college teaching students this new technology. He assured me that the procedure was quite straight-forward provided the x-rays were normal. I was beginning to feel more confident.
The x-rays did prove normal, so in a matter of a week, I had two of my teeth extracted and the first stage of the implants carried out without any hassle. The teeth were then inserted some months later. During the whole procedure I did not encounter any problems whatsoever. Dr.Kher did reassure me that he was available to speak to me anytime should I have encountered any. It was a marvellous job and I was really pleased.
I have now recommended friends from the UK and USA who are currently having their implants done in multiples!
